Curatorial concept
Doctors, artists, scammers – discover the people who have shaped the medical field and how this has impacted people’s lives. Forget about unboxing an advent calendar, join us for this one-day pop-up exhibition that unpacks objects and history from the beginnings of ‘modern’ medicine to the present day. Over seven different themes, Medicine Unboxed unpacks the people, technology and forgotten histories of medical innovation and development, spotlighting stories of innovators and those who paid the price.
Have you ever wondered about how medical instruments came to be? The section of Doctors, Devices, and Discovery takes you on a journey of knowledge and technology, revealing the processes behind creating and using three medical objects throughout time. By diving into their histories, we celebrate the achievements of medical innovators like Miss Wintle, Dr David Littmann, and Hermann Von Helmholtz.
